Staff transitions for DPI Kenya

DPI Kenya: (from left) Brothers Benedict Ayodi OFM Cap, Leonard Ngao OFM Cap, David Kamau OFM Cap, and Nicole Iafolla.

During May, DPI Kenya welcomed Nicole Iafolla (right), who is a volunteer from Canada. With previous experience working in Kenya, Nicole is a great asset to DPI Kenya. We welcome her, and wish her a happy three months working for peace, reconciliation, and care for creation in the spirit of Saint Francis of Assisi.

A further addition is Sister Mel SFIC, who is a missionary in Kenya from the Philippines. With a wealth of financial experience, Sr Mel will serve as the new part-time accountant for DPI Kenya.

Finally, at the beginning of July, DPI bids farewell (temporarily) to Brother Benedict Ayodi OFM Cap, DPI Kenya Country Coordinator. Br. Benedict will be travelling to New York to undertake studies for a Master’s degree in peace studies and international affairs. We thank Brother Ben for his years of commitment and dedication to the growth and development of DPI Kenya, and wish him well in his studies. Particular thanks are due to the Capuchin Franciscan Province of New York/New England who are funding Brother Benedict’s studies.

In Br. Ben’s place, DPI welcomes Brother Calist OFM Cap (left) as the new Country Coordinator. He will take up office in August following his Solemn Profession of Vows as a Capuchin Franciscan Friar.

In the meantime, Nicole Iafolla, our volunteer from Canada, will run the DPI Kenya office with Brother David Kamau OFM Cap (right), until Br. Calist returns from Tanzania where he is making preparation for his vows.
