Damietta’s presentation To the Franciscan Family at St Francis’s feast
As matter of tradition, the Franciscan Familly usually of Kinshasa with over 400 brothers and sisters gathers to celebrate the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi. For the year 2006, the celebration was extended over three days.
Damietta was given the opportunity to give a talk on the theme “Franciscains et Franciscaines Instruments de Paix et l’Initiative Damietta”. The talk was an appeal for more commitment to promoting peace through non violence as our Franciscan charism.
The Initiative was warmly welcomed and the brothers and sisters are ready for the next step.
Among the participants we had some brothers from Mbuji Mayi and Katanga, two strong holds of Franciscans in the DRC.
